How to make a booking

Would you like to make a booking? Down at the bottom of this page you’ll find a search button which will tell you if your dates are available and how much your week will cost. You can then go ahead and book through the Free To Book website, or you can contact us directly via the contact form below  with your dates and questions. You might like to ring and us and speak directly to Sue or Peter on 015394 35295. Please remember that changeover day is Saturday in the main season, which runs from March until November. In the winter months we will offer short stays and we can be more flexible. Please contact us with your requirements and we will try our best to meet them.

Often the cottage is booked by 2 adults only. I know when we go away we look for two bedroomed cottages, as one bedrooms cottages tend to be very small. Brockstone is a very romantic spot for a couple.  During school holidays the cottage is popular with families, as it comfortably sleeps two adults and two children. Due to the wild nature of the garden with the stream running through, and steps inside and outside the house we don’t recommend the cottage for under 5 year olds. The cottage can of course also accommodate 4 adults. The price is the same however the cottage is occupied.

We do accept a well behaved dog at no extra charge.

Booking terms for Brockstone Cottage.
We request a £200 deposit when making a reservation. The balance is due two months before arrival.
Cancellation policy. If the booking is cancelled with 6 months notice, we return the deposit less 25%. If the booking is cancelled with between 6 and 2 month notice, none of the deposit is returned unless the cottage is relet. If the cottage is relet, we will return 50% of the deposit.

The balance is due in full two months before arrival. This is non refundable. 
We strongly advise that you take out insurance to cover any loss that you may incur through cancellation.

In the unlikely event that circumstances beyond our control necessitate the cancellation of your booking, we will promptly refund to you all money already paid, but we will not be liable for any additional compensation

How can I pay?

We usually take payment by BACS, and we will email the details to you when you wish to book. We can also take a cheque .

Currently we can’t take cards, but we can offer PayPal at an extra charge.

Did you know that if you book through the HomeAway website for any holiday property you will be paying considerably more (up to 15%) than if you book direct with an owner? They are selling this to you as a “secure booking”, but we have been letting our cottage for over 30 years , we are 100% secure and trustworthy, so you can book with us with confidence. For best value the rule is always to book direct with the owner- or use Free To Book as we do.
