Your next visit to the Lake District

Your Next Visit to the Lake District.

When is your next visit to the Lake District? Some of our guests at Brockstone Grasmere Cottage like to book their next visit at the end of their stay, so that they always have a week in the glorious Lake District World Heritage Site to look forward to.

Your next visit to the Lake District

The Easter weeks in 2020 have already been booked. The guests who stayed this year have already bagged their next visit. You might need to book your own week well ahead!

We still have some spring weeks available in March and April. Spring is a lovely time to visit the Lake District –read about it here.

Here are a few spring photographs taken around Brockstone Grasmere Cottage.

You can check on the official Cumbria Tourism website, Go Lakes to find events happening  in the Lake District.

It may be that your next visit to the Lake District has to be in school holidays, in which case we still have the weeks 18-25 July, 1-8 August and 15 August- 5 September available. The October half term might also be an option. Autumn in the Lake District is a beautiful time to visit. Here are some photos and blog posts from past autumns.

What time of year will your next visit be?

We think that you can visit the Lake District at any time of year. Here’s an article I wrote that highlights the joys of the different times of year for your next visit to the Lake District.

Would you like to come in Spring? Read about Spring in the Lake District here .You can reserve your visit for spring 2020 right now. Check on our calendar to see the available dates and rates.

Christmas Market Windermere

We have lots of Christmas Markets in the Lake District which are great for buying unusual gifts, as well as enjoying music, food and drink.

WONDERFUL !!!

Helen D.

This holiday was one of the best I have ever had in respect of the location of the cottage, the cottage and all the views, walks and scenery around us. Check in/out was so straightforward and laid back with a map and details about the cottage, we soon felt at home. We drove up to the cottage on arrival day (glad I watched the video on the drive from Dove Cottage, this helped me a lot) and did not move the car once until departure day. Sue and Peter are very lucky people to own this property and I felt a lucky person to have had the pleasure in staying in their property.

After about 20 minutes of easy walking and glorious views you arrive at Rydal Village. Here is a post I wrote about walking around Rydal Water, taking in Rydal Village.

You can also visit Rydal Church. Wordsworth was instrumental in organising the building of Rydal Church. Dora’s Field is beside Rydal Church and Rydal Mount. Wordsworth had always planned to build a house for his daughter, Dorothy (Dora) there. Sadly Dora died, and William planted many daffodils there in her memory. Easter in the Lake District.

Easter is very, very late this year. School holidays are all over the place, with some schools having two weeks from 30 March and going back, before having the Easter weekend off. Some start their holidays on 6 April. Some start on 13 April. As a result of all this lateness and confusion, ( and maybe (shhh) Brexit?!) it seems that many people are holding off from making an Easter reservation.

If you haven’t decided where to go for your Easter 2019 holiday, you might be able to take advantage of our April offers.

We’ve reduced 6-13 April from the original £875 to just £770. We’ve also reduced 20 April to 27 April from £825 to £765. This is for 2, 3 or 4 guests. You are also welcome to bring your dog. Walks from the door are a highlight of your stay at Brockstone Grasmere Cottage. For more information about walks from the door click through this link.

January sunshine

January Sunshine

January sunshine is very special here in the Lake District. Often January is dark and damp, but this year it’s been dry, but mostly cloudy. However, on a day like today when the sky is blue and the sun shines there is simply nowhere better for a brisk winter walk.

When you have January sunshine you can even take your lunch outside on the terrace of Brockstone Grasmere Cottage as you can see in the photo below.

Take advantage of our Sale to book Spring in the Lake District

Spring has to be one of the best times to visit the Lake District. Here’s a previous article I’ve written about Spring in the Lake District. In 2019 Easter falls very late, so March will be a relatively quiet time to visit the Lake District World Heritage Site. The children will still be in school. The days will already be lengthening, so it should be a great time to visit our Grasmere Cottage with stunning views.  With walks from the door, the fresh country Spring air, the flowers, the peace…..why not treat yourselves to a bargain week at our Grasmere Cottage?
