The Sunday Times on 11 December 2022 had a feature in its Travel Section titled  “Seven of the best winter pub walks in the UK”

The walk round Rydal Water is one of these walks! It goes right past Brockstone Grasmere Cottage. 

We’ve looked at our booking chart and find that we have two weeks still available in Winter 2022-23, so we have created a “Winter Walks Offer”. The weeks of 14-21 January 2023 and 21-28 January 2023 have now been reduced to £575. (was £645)

Here is the winter walk as published in the Sunday Times . If you know where to look you can just spot Brockstone Grasmere Cottage where the hill on the right of the photo dips down.

Best Winter Walks

Walk from the door, enjoy the fabulous scenery. As suggested on the Sunday Times you can call in at the Badger Bar at Rydal  for a pint and a pub lunch. Or stop by the gardens at Rydal Hall.  . They look lovely even in midwinter.

You could also stop at the Old School Tea Room  for delicious home made soup and cakes.
